Student Council is a government representation organization. The mission of the Wilkes Early College High School Student Council is to serve the students, the school, and the greater Wilkes County community. In order to do so, the Student Council is to make beneficial decisions from the point of view of the students they represent, to give back to the community, school, and students, and to provide a link between them. Finally, all members of the Student Council are to advocate the vision and concerns of the student body, at the same time growing as leaders and acting as role models for their peers.
To join Student Council a student must be elected by their peers. For grades 10th-13th we hold elections early Spring (near the end of the school year) so that we can be better prepared for next school year. For incoming 9th graders, we hold elections in August for the beginning of the new school year.
