National Honor Society is our school's most prestigious academic honors club. Students are invited to join after successfully completing 3 semesters of high school classes.
To be considered for eligibility, students must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
To qualify for the NHS scholarship, students must have maintained at least a 4.0 weighted GPA through the end of the fall semester of their sophomore year.
To qualify for leadership, students must be involved in at least 3 extracurricular activities (these must be verifiable and may include athletic and community involvement).
Students must not have had any major disciplinary referrals to qualify for character. Faculty may also be asked for input on character exhibited in the classroom and any incidents of cheating, plagiarism, etc. may disqualify candidates for an invitation.
Students inducted into NHS are required to submit verifiable documentation of 6 service hours each year.
A one-time $25 membership fee (payable by cash or check) will be collected prior to the induction ceremony and will be required to be paid before any potential member can be inducted.
Graduates who, maintain a 4.0 weighted GPA, and complete required annual service hours will be recognized at graduation with NHS stoles.
