Good evening, WECHS community. This is Mrs. Belk, the new principal, with a few announcements concerning the opening of the 2026-27 school year.
Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had an outstanding summer, spending time with those most important to you, and is ready to head back to WECHS. I am looking forward to being your principal this year. It will be great to meet everyone and have a great year.
Summer Classes
Students who took Summer Classes must return their devices and textbooks by Tuesday, August 4th. Updates are required for devices before the start of school. If you cannot bring your materials back by the due date, you must contact the office at 336-838-6247.
Infinite Campus
All parents should have received an email to begin student reenrollment in Infinite Campus. Please complete that process as soon as possible. If you are new to the WCS system or have not received an email, go to the WCS website and look for the announcement labeled Complete your Child’s 2025–2026 Annual Update in Infinite Campus.
Open House
Open House will take place on Thursday, August 6th, from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Parents and students should enter through the gym. Everyone is welcome to tour the campus. Parents can pay activity fees, students can get parking passes, and after-school clubs and community partners will have tables set up in the gym. At 6:00 pm, there will be a parent meeting in the gym.
School Supplies
The 2026-2027 school supply list is available. Please visit the WECHS school website under the Parents tab.
Community Stops
Community Stop days occur when traditional schools are not in session, but WECHS is. Parents should review pick-up stops and times to see which would work best for students. Buses are required to wait for 5 minutes and move on to the next stop. The link is available on the WECHS school website and labeled Early College Community Stops 2026-2027.
Den Days (Wednesday, August 12th-Friday, August 14th)
All students are required to attend school Wednesday, August 12th, through Friday, August 14th (Den Days). This time is to build school community and attend our school-wide field trip to Bo’s. The cost of this trip is $5.00 and can be paid at open house or at school. These activities are part of the WECHS program, and no student is excused from them. Attendance is taken on these days. No students will be allowed to leave campus on these days. Our cafeteria will be serving breakfast and lunch (free to all students this year). High school and WCC classes begin on Monday, August 17th.
