Good evening, WECHS community. This is Ms. Sorel with a few announcements for the upcoming week.
Happy Mother’s Day: I want to take a moment and send out a special message to all mothers, in whatever version of motherhood you are in. Writer Donna Ball once stated, “Motherhood is a choice you make everyday, to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you’re not sure what the right thing is ... and to forgive yourself, over and over again, for doing everything wrong.” As mothers, we really never know if what we do for our families is the right thing until we come to the end of our lives and see the past behind us. All we can do is the best we can do every day. Sometimes that means making mistakes. Never hold yourself hostage to those feelings of doubt. Keep your love pure and your talk honest. Children appreciate that more than anything else.
Graduate Awards: The Graduate Awards will take place on Monday, May 12th, in the Walker Center at 9:30 am. Parents and family members are invited to attend. Underclassmen will also attend the awards ceremony. Doors at the Walker Center open at 9 am. No tickets are required.
WCC Graduation: WCC Graduation will take place in the Walker Center on Wednesday, May 14th, at 7 pm. Graduates need to meet in the WECHS gym at 6 pm to line up.
Laptop Collection: 12th/13th graders will need to turn in their laptops on Wednesday, May 14th, in room 728 from 8:30 am-12:30 pm. All 9th/10th/11th graders will turn in their laptops on Thursday, May 15th.
Spring Exam Schedule: Spring Exams will take place May 16th-21st. These are regular school days. Students will receive exam forms like they were given for Fall exams, to write down their exam dates and times. Parents can also sign off if their student can leave once an exam is completed. WECHS Graduation: The WECHS Graduation Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 22nd, at 6 pm in the Walker Center. Doors open at 5 pm. No tickets are required. Waugh 2 Waugh Photography will be at the ceremony to photograph students before the ceremony in candid shots, and receiving their diplomas. Information about picture packages and ordering can be found in attachments through the School Messenger email version and on the WECHS website (WECHS Graduation Flyer).
