Good evening WECHS community. This is Ms. Sorel with a few announcements for the upcoming week. 

WCC Registration: This is a reminder to all students that WCC registration begins Monday, March 31st at 8 am. Mr. Styers has advised all students on classes and provided instructions about registration.

Beta Induction Ceremony/Dues Update: This is a correction for the Beta Induction Ceremony. The ceremony will take place in the Pit on Thursday, April 10th at 6 pm. Students also have until Monday, March 31st to pay their Beta Club Dues.

Spirit Week: March 31st-April 4th is Spirit Week! Marine Monday-dress up in tropical, coral reef colors, or like a fish/shark; Tortilla Tuesday-wrap up in PJ's; Waltz into the Past Wednesday-decade day; Tale as Old as Time Thursday-dress to impress;  and Boss Friday-dress as a video game villain. Students can earn points for their Den every day for participating.

Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Amber Roark was nominated Teacher of the Year for WECHS. The county Teacher of the Year Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 1st. We wish Mrs. Roark the best of luck! She is an amazing teacher and very deserving of this recognition.

Early College Cup: The Early College Cup Volleyball/Chess tournament will take place on Saturday, April 5th in the gym at Surry Community College from 9 am-2 pm. Any students interested in attending must pick up a field trip form in the Front Office and return them by Thursday, April 3rd.

Prom: The WECHS Prom will be held on Saturday, April 5th at the Stone Center. Students may enter prom between 6:50-7:30 pm. The dance will end at 10 pm. Any student needing to leave prior to the 9:30 pm early leave time should have a parent contact Ms. Sorel. Dance entry and exit times are following security protocols for events.
