Announcements-Week of Oct. 28th

Good evening WECHS community. This is Ms. Sorel with a few announcements for the upcoming week.

WCC Priority Registration-On Monday, October 28th WCC Priority Online Registration opens. All upperclassmen have had advising appointments with Mr. Styers and picked out classes for the Spring semester. Students must register online for those classes beginning Monday to ensure their spot. 9th graders are still in a cohort and Mr. Styers will register them for their Spring classes.

Whimsical Wednesday-For the upcoming Whimsical Wednesday, all students are encouraged to dress like a BOSS! (come dressed as the CEO of Life). Students who participate can earn points for their Den.

Halloween-Students are allowed to wear costumes on Thursday, October 31st. They must be school-appropriate and no masks are allowed.

Be Pro, Be Proud-Wilkes County Schools, in collaboration with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department, is excited to announce the Be Pro Be Proud events coming to all five high schools in the district. These innovative events aim to inspire students and young adults by connecting them with technical career opportunities through engaging simulation experiences and pathways to post-secondary education and rewarding careers.

Be Pro Be Proud is leading a movement to elevate skilled professions and provide a direct connection between talent and opportunity. The initiative emphasizes the vast potential within technical careers, offering interactive simulations and hands-on experiences that highlight the exciting possibilities of these fields. Whether it's engineering, IT, or trades, these simulations provide a realistic glimpse into the day-to-day of these professions.

All 9th and 11th grade students at WECHS will interact with these simulations on Friday, November 1st.

As always, thank you for your time and I hope you have a great evening.
