Good evening WECHS Community. This is Ms. Sorel with several announcements for the upcoming week.
Celebration: This week is School Social Work Week. I want to take a moment and thank WECHS social worker Angel Bell. Angel is an amazing person with a great heart. She puts students first every day making sure they have what they need. She is truly a lifeline for many of our students.
Community Stop Day: Tuesday, March 5th is a regular school day for WECHS. Buses will be running only at Community Stops.
Whimsical Wednesday: For the upcoming Whimsical Wednesday, students are encouraged to wear purple. Students who participate can earn points for their Den.
End of 3rd Grading Period: The 3rd Grading Period for high school classes ends on Friday, March 8th. Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, March 13th.
WECHS Required Team Building: WECHS will be holding a required whole school team building exercise on Monday, March 11th from 8:15-9:45 am. Part of the WECHS program is maintaining our culture of building meaningful relationships and all students need to be present. I am providing this information in advance through School Messenger, School Announcements, Facebook, and the School Remind every week leading up to the exercise so students have plenty of time to clear their schedules and be present.
ACT: On Tuesday, March 12th, all juniors will take the ACT. Students must arrive at school no later than 8:15 am and will be escorted from the gym to their testing site. Students may bring a snack and drink for the break. Snacks and water will also be provided. The test provides a score that assists in assessing where a student is academically. Some colleges and universities require an ACT score in the application process. The data provided to your student and the school will identify strengths and weaknesses in academic areas. WECHS faculty will use this collection of data to better provide academic support or remediation.
10th Grade Wilmington Trip: The final $50 payment for the 10th grade Wilmington trip is due Friday, March 22nd. All remaining payments are also due on this date. If you have questions about your balance, please email Mrs. Roark ([email protected]).
