Announcements-Week of January 15th

Teacher of the Year: A big congratulations to Ms. Kaylene Burcham who the faculty voted for as WECHS’ Teacher of the Year! Ms. Burcham is an amazing English teacher and works with our 11th and 12th grade students. We wish her the best of luck in her competition with other WCS teachers.

Community Stop Day: This is just a reminder to all students who ride a bus that Monday, January 22nd is Community Stop Day.

Whimsical Wednesday-For the upcoming Whimsical Wednesday, students are encouraged to wear neon colors. Students who participate can earn points for their Den.

Yearbook: Yearbooks are on sale for $45. Students can pay Mrs. Roark, Mrs. Leah, or online at yearbookforever.com. Once we sell out, we cannot order more. If you wish to purchase a yearbook, please do so as soon as possible. Parents with students who are graduating this year can purchase a dedication page in the yearbook. Prices start at $25. The deadline to purchase a dedication page is Friday, January 26th. For more information about this, please visit our school website and click on the yearbook tab under Clubs and Activities or click on the Dedication link provided in the School Messenger email.

UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair: The Spring 2024 UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair will be held Jan. 30th- Feb. 1st from 3-4:30 pm each day. Mrs. Miranda has reserved the WCC Pit for any students or families that would like to attend the session each day with her. Please see the attached UNC Virtual Transfer Fair Flier for information on how to register for the event if you wish to attend on your own. We highly recommend all upperclassmen attend if possible. Mrs. Miranda is available to answer questions or to assist with registration.

The schools represented for Jan. 31st are: NC A&T State University, UNC Asheville, UNC Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, and Western Carolina University

The schools represented for Feb. 1st are: Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Greensboro, and Winston-Salem State University.
