Students may be dropped off in carline starting at 7:30. Bus transportation available through students' district high school.

The Application Process

 

Application Packet Contains:

  • Letter from Ms. Sorel
  • Application Requirements Checksheet
  • Student Application
  • Writing Samples
  • WECHS Statement of Understanding
  • 2 Teacher Recommendations
    • Must be teachers from 8th grade (Math, Science, ELA)
    • Write the name of the teacher you prefer to complete it, and return it in the packet
  • Counselor Recommendation Form
  • Application packet due Wednesday, Oct. 22nd, to your school counselor or WECHS
 

Tips for Application Success:

  • Read all instructions carefully & completely
  • Complete legibly
  • Read the WECHS Statement of Understanding thoroughly before signing
  • Choose teachers who know you to complete the recommendation forms
  • All writing samples must be written by hand
    • Take time to read the prompt and consider what to write
    • Provide specific details, paint a picture, and show who you are
    • Gives an insight into your desire
 
We do not accept late applications.
 
Admissions Decisions
 
After applications have been submitted:
  • All students will be offered a face-to-face interview.
    • Middle school counselors will alert students of the interview date, and WECHS staff will contact homeschooled students.
    • Interviews reveal who you are and why attending WECHS is important to YOU.
  • Decision letters will be mailed out on Friday, December 12th.
    • Students will either be accepted or wait-listed.
    • Accepted students will have between Monday, January 5th, through Friday, January 9th, to notify WECHS of their decision (by phone or email).
    • If students do not respond, they will be dropped from the list and the next candidate selected.
    • If students are not accepted, explanations will not be given due to the confidentiality of the application process.
